Linear Ball Splines

Splined shaft and outer cylinder assemblies that carry torque while allowing free axial travel.

Torque transmission with axial freedom

Linear Ball Splines pair a splined round shaft with a ball-retained outer cylinder. Recirculating balls run in precision-ground raceway grooves, so the assembly transmits torque between shaft and cylinder while the cylinder rolls along the shaft with low friction. That makes the family a fit for transfer arms, pick-and-place axes, telescoping spindles, and any drive that needs combined rotation and stroke.

  • Combined torque and stroke. Splined ball grooves transfer torque between shaft and cylinder while the cylinder travels axially with low friction.
  • Three accuracy grades, three preloads. Ordinary, High and Precision accuracy grades pair with Clearance, Standard or Light preload across the LSAG, LSAGF, MAG, and MAGF series.
  • C-Lube maintenance-free option. MAG and MAGF series ship with built-in C-Lube lubrication, removing the relubrication interval for cleaner installations.
