Needle Roller Cages

A needle roller cage is the rolling-element subassembly only: hardened needle rollers held in a turned retainer. The shaft and housing bore serve as the inner and outer raceways, which keeps the radial section thin and saves space inside engines, gearboxes, and compact transmissions. IKO offers high-carbon-steel cages for general industrial work and synthetic-resin cages where lighter weight or quieter operation is preferred.

• Compact radial section. The shaft and housing act as raceways, so the bearing adds only the diameter of the needle rollers.
• Cage materials to match the duty. High-carbon steel cages cover most industrial uses; chromium-molybdenum alloy steel cages are available for engine-style applications.
• Single and double row. Single-row KT and KT…EG cover most loads; KTW is a double-row cage for higher dynamic capacity in the same envelope.
