IKO’s Hex Head Cam Followers Offer Easy Assembly and Maintenance

IKO Standard Type Cam Followers (CF) are follower needle bearings for cam mechanisms that provide both high accuracy and high rigidity in linear motion applications. Widely used in machine tools, industrial robots, electronic devices, and office automation equipment, Hex Head cam followers come in a variety of styles and can be installed firmly and easily using a hexagonal wrench. Sizes include stud diameters from 3 to 30 mm. For styles that require periodic maintenance, a relubrication root can be selected from three positions for ease of service.

Beyond the standard cam follower, other available styles include thrust disk, easy mounting, heavy duty (double row cylindrical roller), eccentric stud, eccentric collar, C-Lube (continuous lubrication), and a miniature version with a stud diameter of just 2 mm. C-Lube Cam Followers feature bearings with a pre-packed thermosetting solid lubricant (C-Lube) inside. As the bearing rotates, lubricating oil is evenly deposited onto the needle rollers and raceways, enabling maintenance-free operation for extended time intervals.

Hex Head cam followers are available in a caged type and a full complement type. The caged version features a small coefficient of friction and is suitable for high rotational speed, while the full complement style is suited for heavy loads at low rotational speed. Cam followers are available in high carbon steel as well as stainless steel for applications where superior corrosion resistance is required. Other options include a choice of crowned or cylindrical outer diameters and sealed or shielded sealing structures.
