Clean, reliable and customizable motion components for medical devices
From surgical robots to lab automation, medical devices require absolute reliability. IKO offers linear and rotary components, featuring stainless steel, cleanroom-safe lubrication and custom modifications to ensure safety across patient-contact and diagnostic applications.
IKO linear guides scale for heavy-load applications down to 1 millimeter for space-constrained robotic and lab-automation equipment. Our crossed roller bearings add high rotational accuracy and simultaneous handling of radial, thrust and moment loads, making them ideal for the complex motion requirements of surgical robots and diagnostic instruments. We can cut linear guides to specific rail lengths and supply special lubricants and coatings to meet application-specific requirements, including modifications for direct patient contact.
Most IKO products are available in stainless steel, and certain guide products perform within Federal Standard 209D Class 10-100 cleanroom requirements. Our C-Lube lubrication technology releases lubricating oil directly to the rolling elements without risk of contaminating machine parts or lab samples. Both linear motion rolling guides and crossed roller way guides deliver the smooth, accurate, repeatable motion these applications demand.
Medical devices often operate in environments where disassembly for routine servicing is impractical and downtime is unacceptable. C-Lube technology provides long-term, maintenance-free lubrication. Combined with robust construction and zero-defect manufacturing standards, IKO motion components give device designers confidence that instruments will perform reliably over long service lives.
Linear Motion
Light, compact ball slide units that drop into general-purpose linear axes with a preloaded carriage and a matched rail.
Rotary Motion
Compact precision bearings that carry radial, axial, and moment loads on a single race for rotary tables, robot joints, and indexing drives.
Mechatronics
Compact positioning tables for tilt, rotation, and short-stroke X/Y motion — engineered as integrated stages for measurement, inspection, and fine-adjust work cells.
Linear Motion
Bare rail crossed roller way. The widest CRW catalog, in carbon steel and stainless variants for general precision motion.
